Experience & Background
I’m a 27-year veteran of the financial services industry. I started my career in 1998 as an advisor with Western Capital Financial in La Jolla, CA, at a firm focused on tax-advantaged investing and estate planning. In 2003, I had the opportunity to help a friend launch a limited-service broker-dealer specializing in securitized real estate investments. We built that company and ultimately sold it to a larger firm in 2008. I stayed through the transition and then spent a year helping another friend build out an OSJ in Huntington Beach, CA.
In 2011, I was recruited into a leadership role at Lincoln Financial Advisors, where I served as Regional Director for Southern California, supporting three regional planning offices and roughly 70 advisors and staff. After 10 years in that role, I was promoted to AVP of Lincoln’s National Planning Institute, helping to develop and expand the firm’s coaching and advisor development programs. At Continuum Consulting Group, I bring a blend of leadership experience and client-facing advisory work. Supporting existing programs, helping develop new initiatives, and guiding clients through our planning process.
Planning Philosophy
My approach is grounded in the belief that good planning is both practical and personal. Having spent years coaching advisors and supporting complex planning cases, I focus on helping clients understand their options clearly, think through trade-offs, and make decisions that align with their values and long-term goals. I see my role as part strategist and part guide, by bringing structure and experience to the table while keeping the conversation rooted in what matters most to each client and their family.
Outside the Office
I enjoy fly fishing, golfing, spending time with my wife, Eimi (pronounced “Amy”), and our four children, and cooking for friends and family. Those moments—on the water, on the course, or around the table—keep me grounded and remind me why thoughtful planning really matters.
Fun Fact
I’m a former college baseball player who earned a full-ride scholarship to the University of Utah as their starting second baseman. Even though my competitive baseball days are behind me, the lessons from that full-ride scholarship, discipline, preparation, and teamwork still shape how I show up for clients and colleagues every day.
